What Does This Course Cover?
DSI’s makeup application course encourages students to express their creativity, teaching more than just cookie cutter make-up application. From color theory to highlighting and contouring, students gain vital hands-on experience in virtually every aspect of makeup. Classes are limited in size ensuring every student has the opportunity to practice what they’re learning.
This course will cover techniques such as highlighting and contouring, precision eye makeup, brow shaping, artificial eyelash application, color blending, lip enhancement and corrective makeup. Students will learn about the tools of the trade, including brush types (natural and synthetic), and which work best for certain application techniques. An overview of sanitation techniques will help new artists protect instruments and products from contamination.
This course provides students with the skills needed to become a professional makeup artist. Not only will the class cover how to organize a makeup kit at a practical price, students will learn how to present themselves to potential employers and clients, and how to assess their goals in this growing, exciting field.
